How to find or create a Telegram username
Gifts are sent to a Telegram @username. Here is where to find it on a profile, how to make one, and what to do if your friend does not have one yet.
Finding someone's username
- Open their profile in Telegram. The username is shown under Info, starting with @.
- A t.me link such as t.me/name also contains the username; you can paste the link straight into our order box.
- If there is no @ line on the profile, the person has not set a username yet.
Creating a username
- Open Telegram Settings.
- Tap your profile, then Username.
- Type a name and save it once Telegram says it is available.
Username rules
- 5 to 32 characters (some collectible names are shorter)
- Letters a to z, digits and underscores
- Starts with a letter and does not end with an underscore
- Not case sensitive: @Name and @name are the same
Checking before you pay
When you enter a username, we show the public name and photo of the account. Channels, groups and bots cannot receive gifts, and we tell you before you order.
